23 Reasons Gordo From 'Lizzie McGuire' Is The Perfect Boyfriend
Hilary Duff killed it as Lizzie McGuire on Disney Channel -- but her character would have been nothing without her BFFs Gordo and Miranda. Gordo was usually the voice of reason whenever Lizzie and Miranda got carried away with their crazy teen shenanigans.
Everyone knew Gordo had a serious crush on Lizzie, except maybe Lizzie. We watched him pine after her for three long years, until she finally realized what was up in the series' finale and at the end of "The Lizzie McGuire Movie".
In our opinion, she left him hanging for wayyy too long. David Gordon -- yep, that was Gordo's real name -- was a complete and total catch. Here's why:
He puts things in perspective
He covers for you when you need backup
Gordo lied to his teacher so Lizzie could frolic around Rome with some other dude. He just wanted her to be happy, and he knew going on this insane adventure would make her happy.
His excuses are awful, so you can always tell when he's lying
He's a pro at witty comebacks
Would you like some ice for that burn, Kate?
He brings you doughnuts...
...and cookies!
His priorities are clearly in order
His sarcasm is on point
He makes airplane rides less boring
He couldn't care less about what other people think
He thinks about the future
He gets a tiny bit jealous sometimes
And that's a good thing. You know he cares.
Because the way he handled this moment...
Obviously, he's crushed, but he cares for her happiness enough to not be a d-ck about it.
He's always, always there for you
Lizzie, you idiot, why did you call him just a friend? You can practically hear his heart breaking in this scene.

Sometimes he gets nervous around you, and it's adorable
