Beanie Sigel Had His Lung Removed After Recent Shooting

The Philly rapper was wounded in December.

Beanie Sigel was released from the hospital on Monday, after being wounded in a drive-by shooting in New Jersey back in December, but it looks like the Philadelphia native still has a long road to recovery.

Details were scarce while Beans was hospitalized, with reports only confirming that he was in critical but stable condition. Now, TMZ reports that the rapper, born Dwight Grant, underwent non-elective surgery to remove one of his lungs since doctors weren't able to remove bullet fragments from the organ.

He will reportedly spend 90 days at the Bacharach Institute for Rehabilitation in Pomona, New Jersey while his body heals.

The former Roc-A-Fella Records rapper was hit during a shooting in Pleasantville, New Jersey, after taking his children to school. According to his lawyer, Fortunato Perri Jr., Sigel was not the intended target of the shooting.

Beans was released from prison this summer after serving a sentence for tax evasion. The shooting occurred just one day before he completed his probation.
