Christmas has always been a time to focus on love and family, and Phillip Phillips, the winner of American Idol's Season 11 is doing just that! Yesterday, (December 26), the singer took to his social media pages to share the tidings of comfort and joy: he's engaged!

"My best Christmas surprise is happening. We're engaged yall!" he wrote on Facebook, along with sharing an adorable, excited picture with his fiance.

Phillips also tagged his longtime girlfriend Hannah Blackwell in the post, as well as sharing the good news on Twitter. Hannah also took to Twitter and Instagram to share her excitement over the news:

The pair met in 2009 when they were both volunteering at a women and children's shelter. After Phillips won "American Idol" in 2012, he cited Hannah's support as a huge encouragement in his career. This year, he released his second studio album Behind The Light in May and embarked on a tour with O.A.R. this summer.
