President Snow From 'The Hunger Games' Is Actually A Really Nice Guy IRL

The holy trinity: Jesus, Joan of Arc, and Jennifer Lawrence.

Although he's best known for playing a villainous despot with a gob full of bloody sores, in real life the only thing dropping out of Donald Sutherland's mouth is compliments -- specifically, compliments for his young co-star in the "Hunger Games" franchise.

In an interview with E! Online, Sutherland got decidedly gushy about Jennifer Lawrence's abilities, saying, "When I worked with her, I realized the child was a genius." And he didn't stop there, going on to add:

"She's the right person at the right time in the sense of Joan of Arc or Jesus Christ, any genius, in that sense. She has the ability as an actor to tell the truth out of the material and that truth is immediately recognizable with everybody because it hits you in your heart, your solar plexus and your mind."

Yes, that's right: Donald Sutherland just compared Jennifer Lawrence to Jesus.

Fortunately, J-Law doesn't seem like the type to get a Messiah complex from all this praise -- and while it might seem extreme, for Sutherland, going all-out with compliments is actually par for the course. Below, we've rounded up a few more choice accolades he had for his fellow actors back in 2005 while promoting "Pride & Prejudice."

On "Gone Girl" star Rosamund Pike, who played his on-screen daughter in "Pride & Prejudice":

"It’s indescribable how ethereally beautiful she was."

On Matthew MacFadyen, the latest man to play Mr. Darcy:

"Matthew is just so solid and terrific, silent and cloudy."

On sharing screen time with Keira Knightley:

"She is extraordinary. It's like working with a zen Buddhist... She's just a wonderful actor. She's incredibly talented.
