Kiesza Stole The TARDIS, Time-Traveled Back To The '90s For Her 2014 MTV EMA Performance
On Sunday, Nov. 9, Kiesza performed "Hideaway" at the 2014 MTV EMA, and not since "Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy" have I witnessed a glass case of emotion so powerful.
The 25-year-old Canadian singer-songwriter opened her set from within a British telephone booth, which may or may not have been a custom-made knockoff of the time-traveling TARDIS from "Dr. Who."
Why? Because with all of the early-'90s House (and mild "Dr. Who") vibes Kiesza was channeling during her performance, she must have literally whisked the entire SSE Hydro arena back about 24 years. Literally? Literally.
After that dramatic entrance, Kiesza, who was nominated for four EMAs including Best Video, broke out a lifetime supply of Roger Rabbits and some of the most impressive breath control this side of Beyoncé.
Long live our mighty, redheaded, be-pompadoured one!
