Deadmau5 Is Upset That Paris Hilton Has Become A Successful DJ

Brostep's biggest mouse-eared wonder blasted Paris' credentials.

Who would have thought that celebutante Paris Hilton's phoenix-like rise from the ashes of famedom would include lucrative DJing gigs?

And yet, that's exactly how Paris has made a name for herself the last two years, stunning EDM fans and selling out clubs across the globe. She currently has a residency at Harrah's in Atlantic City and frequently plays clubs in Ibiza, Shanghai and Dubai.

"I’m very proud. I’ve worked hard. I love music. It’s my passion," she told Page Six.

However, her quick rise as a top-selling (and lucratively paid ) DJ has not come without a few haters. Masked brostep producer deadmau5 blasted Paris on his blog, saying her enthusiasm for EDM does not mean she actually has talent.

"So Paris makes a billion dollars playing a CD at a club. That's great. How is this news again?" Deadmau5 began.

It appears to be some news though as Deadmau5 then wrote a long, passionate post comparing Paris' rise to his enthusiasm for the Indy500 – it's alright to be a fan, but it's not alright to "pretend" to be an expert in the field.

"We love that you're a part of our party," he said, "But please, get the f--- back in your go kart. No need to prove that you found someone stupid enough to consider paying you a million dollars for something the world knows you aren't... because here’s what you actually are to everyone who knows better... ticket sales. Nothing more."

Paris, ever the easy, breezy star took it all in stride. On Friday, she subtweeted about the whole situation, letting the haters' cries roll easily off her back.

And Deadmau's criticisms don't seem to be scaring off promoters and club owners across the globe, either. Later, Paris tweeted about her latest mega residency, as if shutting the door on the situation completely.

What do you think? Is deadmau5 right about Paris' DJing credentials? Or does he have it all wrong?
