The Apple Watch Makes Editorial Debut In 'Vogue' China

The fashion industry's obsession with the Apple Watch hasn't stopped or slowed down since its appearance at French retailer Colette last month. In the latest turn as the #worldsmosttalkedaboutaccessory, the Apple Watch has secured its first cover—for the November issue of Vogue China, NBD. Vogue's cosign just might be the official stamp that the Apple Watch needs in order to move classifications from "tech accessory" to just straight-up "accessory." Not bad for a product that technically hasn't even been released yet.

Vogue China

Liu Wen & the Apple Watch

Angelica Cheung, Vogue China's editorial director has more to say on the matter:

"Vogue China is following in the Vogue tradition of moving with the times, giving our readers the first glimpse of a pioneering piece of technology that also doubles as a highly covetable fashion accessory. In its slick marriage of technology, fashion and lifestyle, the Apple Watch will have a significant impact on the way we live."

This isn't the first time model Liu Wen's encountered Apple Watch. The 26-year-old Chinese model alluded to meeting the Apple Watch prior to posing with it in Colette. By our masterful powers of deduction, we're taking this to mean that shooting this cover was the first time the model and the watch met. HISTORY!

Wen looks dang good for this David Sims cover shoot wearing the 38mm Apple Watch Edition in 18-carat yellow gold with a bright red modern buckle and striped Celine ensemble styled by Karl Templer. Not sure about you, but now might be a good time to start lining up outside your nearest Apple store? These watches are getting hotter by the day.
