The flood of "True Detective" news from earlier in the week continues today, as Rachel McAdams has been offered one of three detectives leading the second season of the HBO series (via Variety.

If she signs on, which she's expected to do, she'll join Colin Farrell, who also snagged a detective role, and Vince Vaughn, who reps the other side of the law as a career criminal gone legit.

The final detective role has yet to have been cast, but all signs point to "Friday Night Lights" breakout Taylor Kitsch.

"True Detective" is set to premiere sometime next summer.
