Director Spike Jonze and actress Elle Fanning both happened to be hanging out at the New York Metropolitan Opera House last week, so they decided to take advantage of their surroundings and put together a quick, impromptu clip to celebrate the release of Karen O's new album, Crush Songs.
Jonze shot the two-minute music video during a break from a one-act play he was helping to put on for Fashion Week. The song, "Ooo", is one of many bare, heartfelt new tunes from the new solo album that Yeah Yeah Yeahs frontwoman Karen O dropped last Tuesday.
Fanning (Dakota Fanning's 16-year-old little sister) dances casually to the music through the Met's shadowy wings, then emerges triumphantly at the front of its huge stage as her fellow actors look on.
The surprise video makes a cute, perfect companion to a song about crushing hard on a boy. Watch it below.
