I love "Godzilla." There's still a divide on whether Gareth Edward's reboot of the legendary monster held back too much or just the right amount, but for my money, there wasn't a more thrilling movie in theaters this summer.
And a lot of that had to do with the delayed gratification a lot of people complained about and how Edwards shot the kaiju. It's old-school filmmaking, and it proved that the basic principles of directors like Spielberg still work.
In this exclusive behind-the-scenes featurette, Edwards explains his philosophy when it came to shooting the showdown between Godzilla and the M.U.T.O.s .
"Godzilla" hits Blu-ray and DVD on September 16.
