Giving A Speech With Pancake Syrup In Her Hair Doesn't 'Concern' Danielle Fishel

In her new book, the 'Boy Meets World' star details more than a few 'Tales of Calamity and Unrelenting Awkwardness."

Celebrities -- they really are just like us. At least, they are when it comes to "Girl Meets World" star Danielle Fishel.

During an interview with Natalie Morales on the Today show yesterday, Danielle dished that her brand-new book, "Normally This Would Be Cause For Concern: Tales of Calamity and Unrelenting Awkwardness," would more than live up to its subtitle. In it, she details the day she took a power nap in her car just before giving a college presentation -- and later realized that she'd faced her classmates with mascara running down her cheeks and pancake syrup in her hair.

So why rehash such unpleasant memories?

"I kind of wanted to dispel the myth that actors, or celebrities in general, always have it together," she says in the clip, below. "We always tend to put out this image that we're perfect and we leave the house looking great all the time. And, at least in my case, that couldn't be further from the truth."

Still, most of us don't have fans screaming out "Topanga! Topanga!" when we leave our homes, as Natalie pointed out. But Danielle revealed that she doesn't mind being associated with her on-screen counterpart.

"She's incredibly strong. She's very, very smart, and seeing her as a mother and getting to play her as a mother is really fun for me," the actress said.
