Chris Hemsworth Flexes His Comedy Muscles In 'Vacation' Reboot

Charlie Day will make a cameo appearance, as well.

What's a good way to make me at least a little bit excited about a reboot of the "National Lampoon's Vacation" series, starring Ed Helms and Christina Applegate?

Well, they could cast Chris Hemsworth and Charlie Day. I think that would work.

And that's just what happened, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The trade has Hollywood reported that Thor himself has just signed on -- eager to do a comedy, apparently -- as Rusty Griswold's (Ed Helms) brother-in-law in the reboot/continuation, simply called "Vacation."

Then there's "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" scene-stealer, Charlie Day, who is set to appear in a cameo as a river rafting guide, a role that probably requires his signature scream. That's also a very good thing.

The "Vacation" reboot was delayed indefinitely last summer, but it now seems to be back on course to start filming next month, with Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo already set to reprise their original roles - also in cameos.
