While the pop culture universe was fixated on Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's elaborate European wedding this past weekend, there was a certain member of the bride's clan who had other plans. Brody Jenner, whose father Bruce Jenner reportedly walked Kim down the aisle, has been cooking up his own love story lately, and spent Memorial Day weekend with some of his friends in Illinois and Canada (which are not the same as Paris or Italy).

Late last week, the former "Hills" star tweeted that he had DJ gigs lined up at Home Bar in Chicago and The Ranch Roadhouse in Edmonton, Alberta for Friday and Saturday nights. And after finishing the gigs, he capped off MDW by posting an Instagram photo of himself with two pals and his girlfriend, Kaitlynn Carter. "Memorial Day w/ the fam," he wrote with the pic above last night. Dude doesn't exactly seem broken up about missing the nuptials of the century.

When you can't be torn away from a job by the velvety voice of famed opera singer Andrea Bocelli, whom E! reported serenaded Kimye as they became husband and wife, you must really be a slave to the 1s and 2s. No one can say Brody doesn't make work a priority!
