Matt Damon Dishes On 'Interstellar': 'Just Another Big, Awesome Chris Nolan Movie'

'Monuments Men' actor also sets the record straight about his rumored re-team with Ben Affleck on 'A Speck in the Sea.'

As Christopher Nolan continues to shroud "Interstellar" with secrecy, we will continue to harass his actors into revealing details about the highly anticipated project.

Our latest victim: Matt Damon, who kept plot details under wraps but was quick to gush about the "awesome" performances that we can expect to see.

"I don't have a big part," he said, "I was thrilled to be able to work with Chris and I had a blast working with him."

The star-studded film boasts performances from Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Casey Affleck, Michael Caine, John Lithgow, Ellen Burstyn and even little Renesmee herself, Mackenzie Foy. According to a brief synopsis of the film, it involves space explorers, a wormhole and interstellar travel.

"I really had so much fun and Matthew... talk about being in the zone. He's really just crushing everything right now," Damon gushed. "I think it's gonna be great. I think it's gonna be just another big, awesome Chris Nolan movie with awesome performances from Matthew and Anne."

And while "Interstellar" doesn't hit theaters until November 7, Damon can be seen opposite George Clooney, Bill Murray, John Goodman and Cate Blanchett, to name a few, in "The Monuments Men," out February 7.

So what's next for Damon? Well, as long as he and Ben Affleck are BFFs (spoiler alert: the second "F" stands for "Forever"), there will be speculation about another on-screen team-up. The most recent gossip monger: none other than Harvey Weinstein, who last week went public with his desire to have the duo take on the leading roles in "A Speck in the Sea."

But not so fast -- Damon told MTV News that he and Affleck, who together won an Oscar for their "Good Will Hunting" screenplay in 1998, are currently developing "a bunch of things" to potentially star in.

"We're always looking for stuff to do together," he said. "There was a recent rumor started by Harvey Weinstein, because he's got a project that he wants us to do so he started going, 'I really think this would be good if you guys did this together,' and suddenly people are writing all these articles like, 'Are they gonna do another movie?'

"The same kind of rules apply that have always applied for both of us," he continued. "We would love to work together, obviously, but it's gotta be something that works for both of us and that's kind of a small bullseye to hit."

The target may be small, but we think they'll hit it eventually.
