Whoa! Not so fast there, daydreamers! We are still in a recession, after all. While Oprah Winfrey no longer doles out Pontiac G6s like they're so many holiday fruitcakes, she has continued her yearly hyping of all things favorite in the December issue of her eponymous magazine.
This year's trove is predictably bougie, with a $375 set of steak knives and a $225 candle, among the carefully curated items. With ticket prices ranging from the modest to the absurd, we couldn't help but wonder which of Oprah's Favorite Things would fit perfectly under various celebrities' Christmas trees. It's no Koons, but maybe Lady Gaga will settle for a Matisse? The "Matisse of desserts," that is, which is how Oprah describes this confection's creator, Sam Godfrey. Perhaps a life-sized version could be commission as Gaga's next awards show vessel?
If we've learned anything from Eminem's new album, Marshall Mathers LP 2, it's that he's still angry about a few things, meaning this relaxing CD collection could be the perfect stocking stuffer for the MC. "Here's what the well-dressed baby is wearing this season," writes Oprah of this hand-embroidered, organic cotton bib set. Well, we all know who has the best-dressed baby of all time: Kanye West and Kim Kardashian! You're welcome, baby North.
We know New Zealand newbie Lorde is hesitant about consuming truffle products in public (and we don't blame her), so this trifecta would make it so easy for the 16-year-old to surreptitiously enjoy the luxury in the privacy of her home or hotel room. Royal, indeed.
