'Captain America' Trailer: 5 Things We 'Need' To See

Before the first preview for 'Winter Soldier' hits tomorrow, MTV News lists the sights we're dying to see from the next Marvel movie.

It's the nature of the Marvel Studio model that even with a new film set to debut in two weeks, audiences are already craving what's next in the form of a trailer or a post-credits teaser. That's why you could hear the cries of fanboys and fangirls around the world on Tuesday, when Marvel announced that the first trailer for "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" will debut on Thursday.

We'll be bringing you the trailer as soon as it hits the Web, but while we're waiting around to see how Steve Rogers is adjusting to his life in modern America, post-alien invasion, there are a few things worth mentioning that we'd love to see in the first trailer.

Bad Bucky

If there was one thing that the preview footage from Comic-Con and D23 was light on, it was the character mentioned by name in the title. The reborn Bucky Barnes only appeared in one shot of the sizzle reel that audiences ate up at both conventions, hinting that Marvel may be hanging onto the serious Winter Soldier footage until closer to the April release date, but here's to hoping that we get to see that metal arm in action.

Cap Getting Some Company

Poor Captain America! Since he spent most of "The Avengers" kicking alien butt, Cap didn't have too much time to think about everyone he loved in the 1940s being dead or, in the case of Peggy Carter, very old. And nothing takes that sting quite like a new lady friend. Enter Emily VanCamp as Agent 13! Is she the key to Cap's present-day happiness? Hopefully, the trailer might give us a preview of what will ultimately make female audience member very, very jealous.

ACTION!

The biggest takeaway from the two clips that debuted at Comic-Con and D23 was that the Russo Brothers know how to direct some slick action sequences. Both scenes played out in a way that was clever, exciting, and most unusual of all for a modern action movie, totally visually coherent. It's easy to see where everyone is in relation to each other, and it makes the action feel so much more real and thrilling. Based solely on the short clips we've seen, this "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" could be the best directed Marvel movie from an action standpoint, and maybe that gets shown off in the trailer.

Nick and Natasha

While we're busy cheering the return of Captain America, let's not forget that Black Widow and Nick Fury are also making their first big-screen appearances since "The Avengers." The master assassin's role will more beefed up than her turns in both "Iron Man 2" and 2012's team-up thanks to what seems like an interesting working relationship with Cap at S.H.I.E.L.D. Always the master of toeing the line between friend and "the man," Fury is sure to make things complicated for Cap as he begins to question some of the government organization's more brutal tactics.

Falon In Action

One of the most exciting additions to the cast of characters is Anthony Mackie as Cap's high-flying best bud, The Falcon. Drafting Mackie into the Marvel Universe is another example of the studio being good at recognizing talent, so we can't wait to see what he has to bring to the series. Plus, he's a guy with wings who fires two guns at the same time. That's bound to look really cool.
