Will Channing Tatum's 'Magic' Beat Bond And Batman?

The beefcake will sizzle in the Best Shirtless Performance category during Sunday's Movie Awards.

If you never enjoy an awards show without a six-pack or two, you're in luck. Because this year's MTV Movie Awards is debuting a brand-new category catering to all you abdominal enthusiasts out there: Best Shirtless Performance.

For their first year at the big show, these contenders show no sign of the Freshman Fifteen. (In fact, their body-fat percentages likely number in the single digits...) And the nominees are: Channing Tatum ("Magic Mike"), Christian Bale ("The Dark Knight Rises"), Daniel Craig ("Skyfall"), Seth MacFarlane ("Ted") and Taylor Lautner ("The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2").

Can Tatum dance off with a Golden Popcorn, or will Bond, Batman or a bear be able to foil his chances? Let's size up the field.

Channing Tatum, "Magic Mike"

Based loosely on his real-life experience as an exotic dancer, Tatum leaves little to the imagination as he shimmies and shakes as Magic Mike, a stripper who dreams of leaving the business to start his own furniture company. And with abs you could whittle all manner of wood on, it seems a sound business plan to us.

Christian Bale, "The Dark Knight Rises"

He may have been back-broken by baddie Bane, but one should never count out Gotham's crime-fighting caped crusader. One muscle-baring training montage later, Batman (Bale) is back in fine form, pouring his pecs into that slim-fitting suit and ridding his city of tyrannical terrorists.

Daniel Craig, "Skyfall"

For a man who prides himself on an extensive collection of bespoke suits, James Bond (Craig) sure finds himself out of them quite often. No matter, because the British secret agent looks oh-so fine in his birthday suit too. Consider us shaken and stirred.

Seth MacFarlane, "Ted"

Just to be clear, one-time Oscar host Seth MacFarlane was not actually shirtless during the making of this raunchy comedy (at least not that we know of). It was his stuffed alter ego, Ted, who spent the majority of the flick sans top (not to mention sans bottoms). And, boy, this bear doesn't mind baring it all.

Taylor Lautner, "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2"

For his "Twliight Saga" swan song, Jacob (Lautner) kept his shirtlessness to a singular moment — a memorable one, to be sure, that found him undressing in front of Forks sheriff and Bella's dad Charlie. Not exactly the best way to win the hand of a man's half-human, half-vampire granddaughter, but who are we to judge?
