You've got to hand it to Phoenix: They're doing bankruptcy in style.

On Sunday, they gave fans their first taste of their new Bankrupt! album when they premiered a song called "Entertainment," a rousing rush of synthesizers, shiny guitars and air-tight rhythms that bulldozes the ground they covered with their breakout Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix album, then puts in a nice condo and an in-ground pool. Simply put, this is sunny, white-linen suit music to the max.

And while the song sounds warm, its sentiments are downright chilly: Over those omnipresent synths, frontman Thomas Mars proclaims he'll "take the trouble that you have in mind," realizes that he's becoming "What I once refused to be," and finally opines "I'd rather be alone" ... proof that, no matter how sunny the surroundings, anyone can still be sad.

A spokesperson for Phoenix's label, Glassnote, confirms to MTV News that "Entertainment" is the official first single off Bankrupt! The band began working on the album in [article id="1654133"]early 2011[/article] with sessions in Paris, and also took time to record with [article id="1658102"]percussionists in Australia[/article]. The album will hit stores in the U.S. on April 23, and reportedly features 10 songs, including "Trying To Be Cool," "Drakkar Noir" and "Oblique City."

Phoenix will promote the album here in North America with a tour that kicks off on March 28 in Vancouver, and includes a headlining slot at this year's [article id="1700792"]Coachella festival,[/article] set for April 12-14 and 19-21 in Indio, California.
