Andre 3000 and Big Boi haven't made an album together since 2006 and still OutKast remains one of music's biggest enigmas.

Though fans have been clamoring for an ATLiens reunion, the cries have gone largely unsatisfied. Big Boi provided a sliver of hope, however, when he retrofitted a brand-new verse to Frank Ocean and Andre 3000's "Pink Matter" on Friday. Though he has yet to release it, Big also teased that he is ready to add a verse to T.I.'s "Sorry," another track which 3000 guested on in 2011. While fans were understandably excited about hearing the duo together again, the move didn't go over so well with 3 Stacks.

"It's important for me to be clear about the origins of my contributions to 'Pink Matter' and 'Sorry,' Andre told Spin on Tuesday. "I was approached as a solo artist by both Frank Ocean & Tip. I discussed musical direction with each artist and completed my verses. It was after that when Big Boi's name came up."

On T.I.'s "Sorry," Dre actually addresses the OutKast rift, spitting: "This that type of sh-- that'll make you call your rap partner and say, 'I'm sorry, I'm awkward, my fault f---in' up the tour.' "

Through his rhymes, 3000 seems to shoulder at least some of the blame for the OutKast breakup, but that doesn't mean he endorses Big Boi's rogue remixes. "I never want to mislead our audience -- I worried that some would think these were OutKast collaborations. These songs are not OutKast collaborations," he clarified. "I discussed this rationale with Big, Frank and T.I. and everyone agreed. That is why I was surprised to read about these remixes.

"I understand that anyone can put out an unofficial remix to any song but I have an obligation to be honest with fans about what this is ... and what it isn't," he continued.

During the press run for his recently released Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors, Big faced a number of questions concerning OutKast, specifically why 3 Stacks hadn't appeared on the album. On November 14, Daddy Fat Stacks walked onto [article id="1697442"]"RapFix Live"[/article] and said that he and his former partner-in-rhyme were a-ok. "We're good. That's my brother, man. Y'all don't see us. We do us," he said. "So people want an OutKast album so bad they'll stir up somethin', but you can't break that bond."
