'The Voice' Results: One Coach Loses Whole Team

Ne-Yo and Matchbox Twenty also serve up some entertainment as Team Adam's Melanie Martinez and Amanda Brown are sent packing.

With exactly two weeks left in this season, [article id="1698309"]"The Voice"[/article] sent another two packing Tuesday night (December 4), as Melanie Martinez and Amanda Brown, the remaining members of Team Adam, got the lowest votes.

Hugs were passed around as the two singers shared looks of disappointment, but not without offering thanks to their supporters. "This is beyond what I've ever dreamed. I'm just so happy that I got to express who I am as an artist and touch people's hearts," Martinez told the audience.

That leaves Trevin Hunte (Team Cee Lo), Terry McDermott (Team Blake), Cassadee Pope (Team Blake) and Nicholas David (Team Cee Lo) as this season's four semifinalists. The iTunes singles chart was a pretty good predictor of the results, with the remaining four all holding strong at the top hours before the episode aired.

Tuesday night felt a little bit like the competition's battle-round stage, as contestants paired up in couples for some friendly sing-offs. While Brown and Pope took on Kelly Clarkson's "Breakaway," the evening's standout duets were McDermott and Hunte's rendition of One Republic's "Feel Again" and David and Martinez's take on Fiona Apple's "Criminal."

Of course, "The Voice" kept the results-show star power high with special performances from Ne-Yo and Matchbox Twenty. Ne-Yo took the stage only five minutes into the episode to perform "Let Me Love You (Until You Learn to Love Yourself)," the latest hit single from his recently released [article id="1697465"]R.E.D. LP[/article]. Alongside Brown, the singer pumped up the dance jam with a high-energy dance break and an all-too close final pose with the singing hopeful. And if the pop&B hitmaker didn't satisfy appetites, Matchbox Twenty brought some romance with their latest tune "Overjoyed." Hunte and David appeared as sort-of background singers for the performance as Rob Thomas took center stage.
