Who's VMA Performer Taylor Swift's Secret Feature On 'Red'?

Along with Ed Sheeran collab, 'Never Ever' singer recorded 'duet with my absolute favorite band,' she tells 'MTV First.'

VMA performer Taylor Swift enlisted the help of folkie [article id="1690511"]British singer/songwriter, Ed Sheeran[/article], to help her craft a tune for her October 22 album release, [article id="1691703"]Red[/article]. And, it seems that the twosome used an unexpected method to write a song when they met up at her house.

Unexpected for some, perhaps, but not the always-quirky Swift, who will take the stage at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards this Thursday, ahead of the song's (dubbed "Everything Is Changed") release next month.

"Yes, I actually I wrote a song with Ed Sheeran on a trampoline in my backyard for the new album," she told MTV News last week during "MTV First: Taylor Swift," when she premiered her video for "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together."

"So I can't wait for you guys to hear that," the VMA performer added. "That's a song called 'Everything Is Changed.' We, for real, [were] sitting on my trampoline in my backyard cause we had been writing a song and I was like 'Hey, I just got a trampoline. You want to see it?' And so, he brought the guitar for some reason. We ended up writing an entire song out there. For portions of the song, [we were bouncing around] 'cause it's a trampoline and it's fun, and the combined maturity level of both of us is 8 years old."

Not only did Swift look to Sheeran to lay down vocals on the album, but she also got some other band to as well. Though, who that group is remains a mystery. "I do [have features]. Actually the song that I wrote with Ed Sheeran is a duet and actually there's another one that is a duet with my absolute favorite band. And I want to leave that as a secret for closer to when the album comes out ... it's one of the songs I'm most excited about on this album."

And, if you were hoping that she might get a rapper or two to drop a verse, she said that might happen for her next album. "I think the next one will be my hip-hop influenced one," she laughed. "I love hip hop, [article id="1672570"]I love rap so much[/article]. So much."

Swift will take the stage at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards tomorrow, ahead of the album's release. The show goes live from Staples Center in Los Angeles with Kevin Hart on hosting duties. In addition to Swift's performance, the show will also include ones from One Direction, Pink, Rihanna, and more.
