Flaming Lips' Record-Setting OMA Trek: Watch Highlights Now!

The Lips have been joined by the likes of Grace Potter and Neon Indian during their record-setting O Music Awards run.

The Flaming Lips are barreling their way through the O Music Awards -- and into the Guinness Book of World Records -- aboard a tricked-out tour bus, and they're less than eight hours away from [article id="1688388"]besting Jay-Z's mark[/article] for most shows played within a single day.

And in typical Lips fashion, they've made each stop on their OMA trek -- five so far, in cities throughout the South -- a uniquely insane experience. They've been joined friends like Grace Potter, Neon Indian and Jackson Browne, torn through a litany of covers and generally wreaked havoc at every possible opportunity. If all goes according to plan, they'll wrap things up (and officially enter the Guinness Book) with a triumphant set in New Orleans, sharing the stage with Grimes.

Highlights so far include a rousing take of David Bowie's "Heroes" with Neon Indian in Jackson, Mississippi, a thundering version of Led Zeppelin's "Song Remains the Same" with Grace Potter in Oxford, Mississippi, and a somber, pretty cover of Jackson Browne's "These Days" -- featuring Browne himself -- taken from a performance in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. They've also engaged in no shortage of off-stage hijinks, like launching fireworks at an abandoned gas station with Potter and phoning friends with "Jackass" star Chris Pontius.

There's also been no shortage of memorable moments from other performers along the way, including Potter hitting the helium and belting out a version of Lionel Richie's "All Night Long," Neon Indian's drony take on "Hex Girlfriend," and Big Freedia bouncing through "Azz Everywhere."

And there are still three shows to go. You can follow all the Lips' OMA madness through the O Music Awards official site.
