Ali Larter Did Not Have A 'Jersey Shore' Youth

The 'Resident Evil: Afterlife' star, a Jersey native, does like to wind down with the show.

"Resident Evil: Afterlife" star Ali Larter started her entertainment career as a Ford model and has gone on to appear in many films and television shows. (You may remember the whipped-cream bikini she sported in "Varsity Blues.")

Larter hails from Cherry Hill, New Jersey, so we had to ask if the former "Heroes" star was familiar with MTV's current reality-TV darling "Jersey Shore."

"I watched three episodes last night," Larter admitted with a smile.

"I think that 'Jersey Shore,' they just cast it so well, but [many of the castmembers are] really from New York," she emphasized. "So they're not really from New Jersey. I'm also from South Jersey, that's like Margate, Stone Harbor -- there's a touch of Wildwood, where you might see some guidos hanging around," she said.

While she noted that the area where she grew up is not at all like Seaside Heights, she told MTV News that she has had a bit of experience with the "Jersey Shore" archetype.

"I definitely, in my day, dated a guy named Maggidio who had a red IROC [an edition of Chevrolet's Camaro that was produced between 1985 and 1992]. So I had my moment with the guidos," she recalled. "But that's not really [indicative of] the Jersey Shore -- that's a personality type of someone who really plays up that role."

Regardless, Larter is still a fan of the show. "The casting is so unbelievable. It's funny and it's really unbelievable," she said.

"It's astonishing, some of the things that come out of their mouth."

Larter added that the merry band of tanned, toned and often intoxicated misfits often makes for excellent entertainment.

"Nothin' like a dish of chicken piccata and a little 'Jersey Shore,' " she said.
