The trailer for [article id="1638426"]J.J. Abrams' "Super 8" premiered in front of "Iron Man 2"[/article] Thursday night, and, predictably, bootleg copies started showing up on the Internet almost immediately. There's been a flurry of chatter in the past week about the "Star Trek" director's mysterious new project. We now know that it will be out next summer and that it's the rumored [article id="1638038"]collaboration with (and homage to) Steven Spielberg[/article] that was first talked about last week.

If you haven't seen "Iron Man 2" yet and a bootlegged trailer just doesn't appeal, you're probably still curious to know how this first look at "Super 8" shapes up. Keep reading for a blow-by-blow rundown of how the minute-and-a-half-long tease unfolds.

0:06 - 0:13: Crickets. Nighttime sounds. And a wailing in the distance. Is that a train?

0:14 - 0:16: An explosion of noise! Yup, that's definitely a train speeding by.

0:17 - 0:19: Some incomprehensible squawking on a radio; it sounds military. Text on the screen: "In 1979, the U.S. Air Force closed a section of Area 51."

0:20 - 0:24: Closeup of a flashing train-crossing light, a pair of headlights in the distance. The train is wailing in the background and the sound of squealing tires is heard, as if someone were making a very sharp turn.

0:25 - 0:29: More incomprehensible radio chatter, more text on the screen: "All materials were to be transported to a secure facility in Ohio."

0:30 - 0:36: Closeup of a yellow pickup truck making a hard, high-speed U-turn onto a set of train tracks. The truck speeds off, accelerating in the direction of the oncoming train. The screen blacks out. More radio chatter. The picture is replaced with more text: "From producer Steven Spielberg."

0:37 - 0:49: The yellow pickup collides with the train and explodes. Utter chaos ensues. Flashes of the train coming to pieces, flying off the track. More text on the screen: "And director J.J. Abrams." The text flutters past, as if a film projection is coming to the end of its reel.

0:50 - 1:05: Ominous music swells up; no melody, just ambient sounds. The camera pans slowly through the wreckage. We see some of it shift, as though there's something moving. More text on the screen, wiped away by more of that "film reel ending" effect: "Next summer."

1:06 - 1:15: The camera, now focused on one overturned train car, tracks slowly upwards. A downed telephone pole drops even lower, connecting with the train car and creating a shower of sparks. Someone -- or something -- inside the car suddenly pounds on the interior wall. More text, more fluttering film to wipe it away: "It arrives."

1:16 - 1:28: The tracking camera comes to rest on the train car's door, which bears a logo for the U.S. Air Force. The exterior locking wheel starts turning as the someone/something inside pounds hard enough to dent the door outwards. The pounding continues, increasing in intensity until the door bursts outwards. Cut to black.
