Oscars Red-Carpet Hits And Misses

Miley Cyrus and Kristen Stewart get it right, while Zoe Saldana and Sarah Jessica Parker miss the mark.

[movieperson id="262629"]Kristen Stewart[/movieperson] made her Oscars red-carpet debut Sunday night (March 7) in Los Angeles, and the "Twilight" star proved that she was red-carpet-ready in her tailored, strapless black gown. She definitely made our best-dressed list, alongside [artist id="2408193"]Miley Cyrus[/artist], [movieperson id="163664"]Cameron Diaz[/movieperson] and [movieperson id="373803"]Taylor Lautner[/movieperson].

2010 Oscars Red Carpet

Cyrus looked age-appropriate, chic and fun in her sparkly, lingerie-inspired Jenny Packham gown. Her dress' champagne tone was the trend of the night, with Diaz walking the carpet in a nude and sparkly Oscar de la Renta.

Meryl Streep looked stunning in a low-cut, long-sleeved white gown made by "Project Runway" designer Chris March. Like Stewart, Lautner made his Oscars debut and managed to show the world that he understands what it means to be a red-carpet stud in his tux. Jennifer Lopez sparkled in her lavender-toned Armani gown, complete with tufted detail at her hip.

While Kate Winslet looked pretty in her silver, strapless Yves Saint Laurent gown, she wasn't exactly dazzling. Sandra Bullock looked a bit like an ice skater in her champagne, tight-fitting gown, and while the look toed the line between good and bad, she looked happy and confident.

Diane Kruger missed with her tiered, cream-colored halter gown with black detailing. Also, Zoe Saldana looked overwhelmed in her lavender gown with ruffles and sparkles. Vera Farmiga's fuchsia Marchesa gown didn't fit her properly and was too much dress, similar to Penélope Cruz's maroon dress.

Sarah Jessica Parker's butter-colored Chanel couture gown might have been the night's worst, thanks to its strange neckline of silver flowers. Parker is known for her fashion risks, but this one was too much.
