Amy Winehouse, Wu-Tang Clan Fill Out Virgin Fest Lineup

Two-day August festival also features Smashing Pumpkins, Beastie Boys, Police as headliners.

The Virgin Festival might be this summer's final offering, but that doesn't mean it got last pick of artists.

The August fest's full lineup, revealed Friday (April 27), includes Brit "it" girl Amy Winehouse, M.I.A., Bad Brains, Wu-Tang Clan and Matisyahu, alongside previously announced headliners the Smashing Pumpkins, Beastie Boys and the Police. The two-day event -- a U.K. import -- returns to Baltimore's Pimlico Race Course August 4-5 after its inaugural U.S. outing last year (see [article id="1541661"]"Chili Peppers, Who, Killers Help Virgin Fest Make Its U.S. Debut"[/article]).

(Check out Gnarls Barkley, the Killers and more at last year's festival.)

Velvet Revolver, Chris Cornell, Incubus, 311 and the Crystal Method also help keep Virgin shiny and new, even if some of the 40 performers -- more than twice last year's lineup -- will have already made the rounds at Coachella (Interpol, LCD Soundsystem, Fountains of Wayne, Peter Bjorn and John), Bonnaroo (the Police, Ben Harper & the Innocent Criminals, Sasha and Digweed) or Lollapalooza (the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Modest Mouse, TV on the Radio). Or even, in the case of Regina Spektor, all three.

"It's all about quality over quantity, the flow of the event, and how the bands overlap," said festival producer Seth Hurwitz. "That said, the amount and diversity of top artists is amazing."

"Our fantastic lineup will be sure to excite festivalgoers of all ages," said Richard Branson, Virgin founder and chairman. "We're going to redefine cool at one of the hottest and greenest destinations for live music this summer."

Tickets for the second U.S. Virgin Festival by Virgin Mobile go on sale May 5 at $175 for general admission for both days and $97.50 for a single day. Prices include a charity donation of $1.50.
