Green Day Postpone Two Shows Due To Billie Joe's Voice

Dayton, Ohio, and Nashville, Tennessee, gigs will be rescheduled.

As the one-year anniversary of the release of American Idiot approaches, the wear and tear of promoting the hit album seems to finally be catching up with Green Day. The group postponed two shows this week to let singer Billie Joe Armstrong rest his voice, according to a Reuters report.

Sunday's show in Dayton, Ohio, and Monday night's gig in Nashville, Tennessee, have been postponed on doctor's orders to give Armstrong's voice a break. The concerts will be rescheduled.

The band is expected to pick up the tour on Wednesday night with a scheduled gig in Oklahoma City (see "Green Day/ Jimmy Eat World Announce Massive Tour"). Green Day's current tour is slated to run through an October 9 date at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California.

Hopefully, Armstrong will be good to go on August 28, when Green Day are expected to perform at the Video Music Awards.
