The stars of "Resident Evil: Apocalypse" are filling their schedules, beginning with Milla Jovovich, who is in negotiations to star in ".45," an indie about a married New York couple involved in small-time crime during the mid-1970s. Filming in Hell's Kitchen begins in November, after Jovovich wraps "Ultraviolet." ... Oded Fehr, meanwhile, has joined Kurt Russell, Dakota Fanning and Elisabeth Shue in the cast of "Dreamer," about a horse trainer and daughter who nurse a horse with a broken leg back to health and race it in the Breeders' Cup. Fehr, who just reprised his role in Rob Schneider's sequel to "Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo," has also shot a pilot for Showtime called "The Cell." "It's a very dark kind of series about a terrorist network cell that is here in Los Angeles," Fehr said. "It's a very dark drama, very real, very scary." ... Finally, Sienna Guillory is shooting "Perfect Life" with Jesse Bradford ("Bring It On"). "It's psychological thriller set in an American college campus," she said. ...

Eric Bana has signed on to star in "Lucky You," a drama set in the world of high-stakes poker and directed by Curtis Hanson ("8 Mile," "L.A. Confidential"), who also worked on the script with Eric Roth ("Forrest Gump," "Ali"). Shooting is scheduled to start early next year in Las Vegas. ... After "Lucky You," Bana has committed to "Vengeance," Steven Spielberg's chronicle of the 1972 Munich Olympics, where Israeli athletes were kidnapped by a group of Palestinian militants. Roth also worked on that script with Tony Kushner ("Angels in America"). ... Hoping to push those still on the fence away from re-electing George W. Bush, Michael Moore is bringing his film "Fahrenheit 9/11" back to the big screen, beginning Friday. The Bush-bashing documentary will get a home-video release on October 5. ...

Newcomer Diane Kruger of "Troy" and "Wicker Park" will return to the big screen November 24 in "National Treasure" with Nicolas Cage. "It's a really cool story where you learn a lot about American history," the German actress said. "We are on this treasure hunt, we find clues on, like, the dollar bill, for example." ... Simon Rex will play Paris Hilton's boyfriend in "National Lampoon's Pledge This!" Nicky Hilton is also expected to play a small part. ...Mel Gibson will be named the Hollywood Producer of the Year at the Hollywood Film Festival gala on October 18. Along with "The Passion of the Christ," Gibson also produced "Paparazzi" and a few TV projects. ...

Producer Brian Grazer, whose credits range from "8 Mile" to "A Beautiful Mind" and whose "Friday Night Lights" opens October 8, is working on an adaptation of "The Da Vinci Code," among about 10 other movies. "It'll be controversial," he said. "I grew up with two religions, one of which was Catholicism. So what I'm trying to do is deconstruct religion itself, because we become so committed that we're willing to kill. That seems pretty irrational." ... "Reno 911!" creators Tom Lennon and Ben Garant are invading Hollywood with several scripts. The duo wrote the upcoming "Taxi" with Queen Latifah and Jimmy Fallon, "The Pacifier" with Vin Diesel and Brittany Snow, and "Herbie: Fully Loaded" with Lindsay Lohan, and just last week they sold "Balls of Fury," about a washed-up ping-pong champion forced to polish his game so he can go undercover to bust a crime lord. Garant is directing the comedy. ...

Macauley Culkin was arrested Friday in Oklahoma City for possession of a controlled substance without a valid prescription and possession of marijuana. He was held overnight on a $6,000 bond. ... Meanwhile, Edward Furlong ("Terminator 2") was also arrested last week on a misdemeanor charge of alcohol intoxication in a public place. The actor and his friends were freeing lobsters from a grocery store's tank in Kentucky, where he is shooting a movie. ... And Anthony Anderson, who is facing rape charges in Tennessee from earlier this summer, has been accused of sexually assaulting another woman on the set of his TV show last year. "Clearly, this is an attempt to exploit Anthony's perceived vulnerability because of the ridiculous rape charges pending against him in Memphis," Anderson's publicist said in a statement. "As Anthony has said before, those charges are also completely baseless." ...

Ron Livingston ("Office Space") has signed on for the indie "Relative Strangers." Greg Glienna, who wrote "A Guy Thing," is directing the dark comedy, about an uptight professional who sets out to meet his biological parents only to learn they are from the wrong side of the trailer park. ... Sarah Silverman is making a feature film based on her off-Broadway show "Jesus Is Magic." The movie will be a combination of a comedy concert, music videos and narrative digressions. ... Eddie Kaye Thomas ("American Pie"), Donald Faison ("Scrubs") and Eddie Guerra ("CSI: Miami") are joining forces for the indie comedy "Venus and Vegas," about a trio of crooks who must repair their fractured relationship after they botch a holdup job. Molly Sims, Jaime Pressly and Florence Henderson are also staring in the movie, which Guerra wrote. ...

Jason Mewes, the Jay of "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back," and "Saturday Night Live" actress Rachel Dratch will play dueling gas-station attendants in the indie crime thriller "The Pleasure Drivers." Lauren Holly, Lacey Chabert and Meat Loaf are also on board. ... "Species III," as well as sequels to "Road House," "War Games" and "The Cutting Edge" are in the works as direct-to-DVD releases for MGM, which is hoping to capitalize on its strong-selling catalog movies. Natasha Henstridge will appear in "Species III," and Patrick Swayze will pass the torch to a rising bouncer in the "Road House" sequel. ... Tyler Hilton, who plays Elvis Presley in the upcoming Johnny Cash biopic "Walk the Line," will star in a six-episode arc on the WB's "One Tree Hill." Hilton's debut album, On the Tracks Of, is due September 28. ...
