G-Unit, Mobb Deep Call Off Joint Tour

Havoc says he doesn't know why, but it just fell through.

NEW YORK -- If you're out there bugging your local Ticketmaster outlet for tix to the G-Unit/Mobb Deep joint tour, you might want to fall back. The outing isn't going to happen.

"The tour fell though," Mobb Deep's Havoc explained Wednesday night in Queens. "That happens sometimes. You be hyped up, and at the very last moment things don't happen. You gotta roll with your plan B and keep it moving. I have no idea why it fell through, but Mobb is gonna keep going and look for all opportunities."

"There'll definitely be a [Mobb Deep] tour sometime in the future," Prodigy said. "Definitely ... when this [new] album drops. You gonna see us out there for sure."

Despite the Mobb announcing a handful of tour dates a couple of weeks ago, a spokesperson for the G-Unit now says the tour was never solidified. The G-Unit are still on the road promoting Friday's Beg for Mercy. Mobb Deep have also been performing shows over the past few weeks.

While waiting to hit the stage on Halloween, Prodigy and eight people he was traveling with were arrested for allegedly carrying a .25 caliber handgun and marijuana (see [article id="1480224"]"Mobb Deep's Prodigy Faces Drug, Weapons Charges Following Pre-Show Arrest"[/article]). He was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and unlawful possession of marijuana.

"We had a little incident up in Albany," Prodigy said. "[There's] a lot of mixed-up stories floating around of what happened, but to let you know, everything is all right. We're good. Can't nothing knock us down. We were going to do our thing on Halloween. We had the little incident with police, but it's nothing."

The Cohoes Entertainment Complex, where the show took place, has been at the center of controversy lately as city officials debate whether to shut down the club in the wake of separate violent incidents.

"Those are our normal clubs," Havoc said of performing in rough venues. "On an average day we perform in clubs like that, but that town, they're trying to shut something down. They raided the club and the whole nine. We just got caught in the middle of it."

Mobb Deep's new LP, Amerika's Nightmare, is due in February (see [article id="1480181"]"Mobb Deep Dream Of Securing Eminem For Their Nightmare"[/article]). A video for their first single, "Gangsta Roll," will be shot soon with director Benny Boom.
