A wee Marshall Mathers spent some of his childhood in a Warren, Michigan, home, whose bidding was up to $120,000 at press time, and the three-bedroom house that's seen on The Marshal Mathers LP and what Em called home from 1988-1994 was going for at least $500,000. A third property, in Sterling Heights, Michigan, was recently pulled from the online auction block after a bid of $99.9 million turned out to be a hoax. ... R.E.M. will take a break from their incessant studio noodling and get out and see the world next year. Marilyn Manson has made "Watercolor Fine Art Editions" of two more of his watercolor paintings, "Lily White" and "Faundadestia," available through marilynmansonartworkonline.com. The former White Zombie and Exodus drummer was once a fulltime member of Testament, recording with the long-running Bay Area, California, thrash metal band on their 1994 album, Low. ...

On February 11, German trance innovator Paul van Dyk will release the retrospective Global, featuring 13 newly reworked highlights from his 10-year career, along with the unreleased tracks "Animacion" and "My World." A companion DVD, mixed in 5.1 surround sound, will include footage of the DJ performing around the world. ... Another electronic music pioneer, Aphex Twin, will release a collection of his remixes called 26 Mixes for Cash on March 25. The White Stripes have sent a limited number of vinyl singles -- 3,000, to be exact -- called "Merry Christmas From the White Stripes" to independent record stores across the U.S. this week. A U.S. District Judge awarded Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee $740,000 each in their fight against the porn company that distributed and sold their infamous honeymoon sex tape. Anderson and Lee's damages are their share of profits from the video cassette and DVD sales of the film. IEG's total earnings from the video, including Internet sales at $15 a pop, were upwards of $77 million. ... Mötley Crüe singer Vince Neil's pretrial motions hearing, which was scheduled for Monday at the Beverly Hills Superior Court, has been postponed.
