Creed's Scott Stapp Given Go-Ahead To Tour, New Dates Announced
Scott Stapp has been given the go-ahead from doctors to hit the road, and
that is exactly what he's going to do.
After postponing the initial second leg of the Weathered tour due to
the singer's back injury in a car accident on April 19 (see [article id="1453739"]"Scott Stapp
Discusses Accident That Derailed Creed Tour"[/article]), Creed have rescheduled the
tour to begin July 11 in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
The new 30-date second leg will make up canceled shows in Indianapolis;
Fargo, North Dakota; and Moline, Illinois; on a jaunt mainly through the
Midwest and Northeast.
Creed have also scheduled a third leg that will begin September 20 in San
Antonio, Texas, and make up canceled shows in several cities. Venues, on-sale dates and openers have not been announced for those dates.
Louisiana rockers 12 Stones will open on all the dates on the second leg
and former Alice in Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell will lend support in
selected cities. Tickets for the tour will go on sale on
various dates throughout June and early July. Tickets from the cancelled
dates will not be honored.
Stapp, who suffered a torn disk in his lower back and a bulging disk in his
neck from the accident that caused Creed to cancel 20 dates, was cleared by
doctors after enduring a physical-therapy and strengthening program,
according to his spokesperson at Wind-Up Records.
The first leg of Creed's Weathered tour kicked off in Atlanta on January 16
(see [article id="1451819"]"Creed Set Off The Pyro, Take Fans Higher At Tour Opener"[/article]).
