Billy Idol Launching Summer Trek
Fans of Billy Idol won't have to spend another summer dancing with themselves. Beginning July 20, they'll have thousands of Idol admirers to share in their synth-rock reverie.
The former Generation X frontman will begin his six-week trek at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas and wrap up August 18 in Englishtown, New Jersey, according to his publicist.
The peroxide punk is on the road supporting two albums: last year's Greatest Hits and VH1 Storytellers, released in February. The best-of set features favorites like "Eyes Without A Face," "Rebel Yell" and "White Wedding," as well as Idol's covers of Tommy James & the Shondells' "Mony Mony," the Doors' "L.A. Woman" and Simple Minds' "Don't You (Forget About Me)" (see [article id="1442599"]"Billy Idol Working On More, More, More New Material"[/article]). The Storytellers LP, grounded in the VH1 series that gives artists an opportunity to reveal the stories beyond their songs, expounds upon such head-scratchers as "Cradle of Love," "Flesh for Fantasy," "Sweet Sixteen" and "Dancing With Myself."
