Powerman 5000 Bringing Machine Head, Saliva On Doomsday Voyage
With three major-label albums under his deathray-dangling belt, Powerman 5000's sci-fi lovin' frontman, Spider, will have plenty of new apocalyptic tunes to work with when his band hits the road in September.
Alt-metal combo Saliva and neo-speed-metal act Machine Head will join Powerman 5000 for their tour in support of Anyone for Doomsday?, due August 28. The trek kicks off September 6 in Kansas City, Missouri.
The video for the record's first single, "Bombshell," was shot last month in Los Angeles by the Brothers Strause (Linkin Park, Korn). The clip blends the artistic sensibilities of "The War of the Worlds" and "The Empire Strikes Back" and features PM5K playing inside a crater on a faraway planet as volleys of bombs rain around them. Following a torrent of detonations, a parade of huge metal robots emerges from the war-torn craters to wreak havoc on a nearby city.
Other tracks on Anyone for Doomsday? include: "Disease of Machinery (Intro)," "Danger Is Go," "The Meaning of Life," "Tomorrow Is Yesterday," "The End of Everything," "What the World Does," "I'll Try (Interlude)," "The One and Only," "Wake Up," "Rise/Alt. Mix," "Megatronic" and "The Future That Never Was."
