Steven Seagal's Latest Role Is Singer/Guitarist

Star of action films recording album with Wyclef Jean, Beenie Man, Toots Hibbert.

He's been "Hard to Kill," "Marked for Death" and "Under Siege." Now, Steven Seagal is in the studio.

The action-movie star is recording his debut album in a Kingston, Jamaica, studio, according to the Jamaica Gleaner.

Wyclef Jean is producing one track for the as-yet-untitled album, his spokesperson said, and Grammy-winning reggae star Beenie Man and Toots & the Maytals singer Frederick "Toots" Hibbert contribute vocals to separate tracks, according to the Gleaner.

"Doing movies took up all of my time, but music has always been my first love," Seagal told the newspaper.

Seagal, 50, plays guitar and sings on the album and reportedly recorded a cover of Bob Marley's "Redemption Song."

Three investors behind the album sued Seagal in October in California Superior Court, claiming they put $600,000 into the record and an accompanying documentary film but it appeared the actor had no intention of completing it.

Seagal co-stars with rapper DMX in his latest movie, "Exit Wounds," which debuted last month at the top of the box office.
