Everclear Films 'Brown Eyed Girl' Video, Resumes Tour
Taking a detour from their two-month outing with Matchbox Twenty and Lifehouse, Everclear recently filmed the video for their version of the Van Morrison classic "Brown Eyed Girl."
Filming took place April 5-6 in Los Angeles, with Everclear singer-guitarist Art Alexakis serving as both the clip's director and star, the band's publicist said. The frontman took on the role of a limo driver opposite co-star Marla Sokoloff, of television's "The Practice." Andy Dick and Lin Shaye, the sun-soaked old woman from "There's Something About Mary," have cameos in the video.
"Brown Eyed Girl" is the third single from Everclear's fourth album, Songs from an American Movie, Vol. 1: Learning How To Smile, released in July. The band's latest album, Songs from an American Movie, Vol. 2: Good Time for a Bad Attitude, which features the singles "When It All Goes Wrong Again" and "Out of My Depth," arrived in November.
Once production wrapped, Everclear rejoined Matchbox Twenty and Lifehouse in El Paso, Texas, to resume their tour. Following a Southern excursion, Everclear will embark on a five-date college jaunt beginning April 27 at West Virginia's Wesleyan College, according to their publicist, before going to Europe and returning Stateside for a string of summer dates. A July 7 appearance at Milwaukee's Summerfest is the only confirmed date thus far.
Here are Everclear tour dates, according to the band's publicist.
