Papa Roach Tap Fear Factory For Second Leg Of Tour

Industrial metalheads to fill in for Raid the Nation spot vacated by Orgy.

Papa Roach have lined up the second leg of their Raid the Nation tour, which will see Fear Factory added to the bill as one of two opening acts.

The 13-city stretch kicks off April 24 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and runs through May 11 in Phoenix, according to the tour's publicist. Fear Factory will take over the reigns held previously by Snapcase, who were added after Orgy bugged out due to guitarist Amir Derakh's bout with mononucleosis (see [article id="1441787"]"Snapcase Take Over For Orgy On Papa Roach Tour"[/article]). Alien Ant Farm will continue to serve as the first opening band.

Fear Factory's inclusion coincides with the release of their fourth studio album, Digimortal, which drops April 24 (see [article id="1435963"]"Fear Factory Deliver Digimortal in April"[/article]).

Before setting out for a European tour that will keep the industrial metalheads overseas until April 23, Fear Factory had been on the road with Kittie, the Union Underground, Slaves on Dope and Boy Hits Car for the month-long SnoCore Rock tour, which wrapped up February 17 (see [article id="1424497"]"Fear Factory, Kittie, Frog Brigade Set For SnoCore Tours"[/article]).

Despite their decade-long career, Fear Factory predict they'll be playing to Raid the Nation crowds belonging mostly to relative upstarts Papa Roach — fans who might not be accustomed to Fear Factory's onstage assault. Faced with that daunting task, bassist Christian Olde Wolbers and guitarist Burton C. Bell aren't worried.

"I like playing in front of new fans," Wolbers said recently.

"They're usually more blown away," Bell added. "They're like, 'I've never seen you guys before, but you're amazing.'"
