India Arie Shoots Video For 'Video'

Up-and-coming singer's first single already added at nearly 80 radio stations.

Singer/songwriter India Arie has just wrapped up a video shoot for, appropriately enough, "Video," the first single from her upcoming debut album, Acoustic Soul.

The production was taped in Los Angeles with director Terry Heller, who is also responsible for Dru Hill's "Tell Me" and Heavy D's "On Point."

"Video" was shipped to radio last week and has already been picked up by close to 80 stations, according to her management.

Arie's "In My Head" appeared on the soundtrack to Spike Lee's Bamboozled, released in September, and Arie also had snippets of five other songs on that soundtrack. "In My Head" and four of the five snippets will also be heard on Acoustic Soul, due March 27 on Motown Records.

Meanwhile, the Atlanta songstress has a handful of live appearances lined up, including a February 12 show at Club Kaya in Atlanta, a February 17 appearance at the Urban Network Conference in Palm Springs, California, and a soon-to-be-announced show in Chicago on February 20.
