Destiny's Child, Coldplay To Perform At Brit Awards
Destiny's Child have joined the list of performers at the Brit Awards, along with Coldplay and Sonique, organizers announced Thursday.
Houston girl group Destiny's Child aren't nominated for any awards this year, but "Yellow" rockers Coldplay are up for three, and dance act Sonique has two nods (see [article id="1437966"]"Craig David, Coldplay Lead Brit Award Nominees"[/article]).
Those acts join previously announced performers U2, Westlife, Robbie Williams and Craig David. The awards, the U.K. equivalent of the Grammys, will be handed out on February 26 at London's Earls Court.
Also, Radio One listeners have decided the five nominees in the Best British Newcomer category, narrowing the original list of 20 possibilities down to Coldplay, two-steppers Artful Dodger, R&B sensation David, club favorites Toploader and rockers A1.
Brit Award nominees are determined by an academy of more than 1,000 members, with the exception of Best British Newcomer, Best British Video, Best British Single and Best Pop Act, which are determined by public voting.
