The fourth annual George Strait Chevy Truck Country Music Festival, which will bring such stars as Alan Jackson, Lee Ann Womack and Brad Paisley to stadiums in 16 cities, kicks off March 24 in Tampa, Florida.
Also scheduled to perform at the festival's daylong shows are Lonestar, Sara Evans and Asleep at the Wheel. Additional performers will be announced at a later date. The event, which runs until a June 10 date in San Antonio, Texas, also includes Straitland, an adjacent sideshow and exhibition area with a second stage for newer performers.
"We want people to come out there that the crowds are going to enjoy seeing and have a little name recognition, also," Strait, who will also sing at the shows, said of his star-studded lineup in a statement. "They're not going to look at the bill and say, 'I don't know who that is.' "
New stops for the tour are Miami; Little Rock, Arkansas; Columbia, South Carolina; and Milwaukee. Markets that have hosted the festival three or more times include Tampa, Florida; Phoenix; New Orleans; Kansas City, Kansas; San Antonio; and Dallas, the only four-time host city.
Since its inception, the stadium tour has grossed more than $90 million dollars in ticket sales alone, playing to nearly 2.5 million people and averaging 45,000 people per show.
