The Y2K version of N.W.A., featuring original members Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, MC Ren, and a new addition, Snoop Dogg, has already recorded "Chin Check," a reunion single for the "Next Friday" soundtrack.Former (and possibly future) N.W.A. members Dr. Dre and Ice Cube have also confirmed in recent interviews that they may reassemble the group for a complete album. But aside from deceased N.W.A. member Eazy-E, there's another name that hasn't been mentioned in all the N.W.A. reunion hype -- DJ Yella. Although Yella did not take part in the recording of "Chin Check," he is confirmed to appear in the video for the song, which is scheduled to be shot next week in Los Angeles by an as-yet-undetermined director. No word yet on if or when a new N.W.A. album might happen, but you can catch "Chin Check" on the "Next Friday" soundtrack, due in stores in stores on December 14. The album also features tracks from Ice Cube, Pharoahe Monch, Wu-Tang Clan, Aaliyah, and Eminem.
The "Next Friday" film, starring Ice Cube, will arrive on theater screens on January 12.
