Milwaukee Metalfest to Feature Manowar, Machine Head, Misfits, More

It should be lucky 13 for the Milwaukee Metalfest. Organizers have announced the addition of headliner Manowar alongside previously confirmed roster-toppers Machine Head, Morbid Angel, and Cradle of Filth for the 13th annual metal showcase.

The 1999 festival, scheduled for July 30 and 31 at Milwaukee's Eagles Auditorium and Rave nightclub complex, will now be adding a fourth stage to help house an expanded, 150-plus act schedule.

The Milwaukee Metalfest traditionally features dozens of death metal buzzbands and metal subgenres including thrash, grindcore, metalcore, progmetal, black metal, doom, and industrial. Other artists on the books to date include the Misfits, Marduk, Gorguts, Monstrosity, Divine Empire, Solitude Aeturnus, Immolation, Nile, Anal Blast, Incantation, Pissing Razors, Canderia, Mortician, Flotsam & Jetsam, Nasum, Morgion, Jungle Rot, One King Down, E Town Concrete, Shutdown, Living Sacrifice (a Christian band, believe it or not), Indecision, Internal Bleeding,

and the charmingly monikered Dying Fetus.

As always, the festival will feature a strong international contingent so far represented by Angra (Brazil), Criminal (Chile), Mental Home (Russia), Defiled (Japan), Rotting Christ (Greece), Twin Obscenity (Norway), Krisiun (Brazil), Centurian (Holland), Chasm (Mexico), and Witchery (Sweden).

Dozens of other showcasing artists from around the U.S. and Canada are also scheduled to perform, interspersed with appearances by a variety of adult film stars, wrestlers, and other special guests.
