Billy Idol Takes To Web To Premiere First New Songs In Five Years

New wave punker Billy Idol is taking to the web to premiere two new songs, "Find a Way" and the Yuletide-themed "Sleeping with an Angel," which marks the first new material Idol has released in over five years, since 1993's "Cyberpunk."

Idol will be making the two tunes available for download free via the popular site, as the singer announced during last week's KROQ Acoustic Christmas show in Los Angeles, where Idol was on hand to introduce the Offspring.

One of the tracks, "Angel," was co-produced and co-written by Glen Ballard, whose label Idol inked a deal with earlier this year (see "Billy Idol Signs To Glen Ballard's Java Records").

According to a source close to Idol, the singer is still working up songs for a 'comeback' album, which could be released by the end of next year.
