Sammy Hagar, Slash Honing New Material

It seems that Sammy Hagar is throwing quite the party down in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, this week.

Musicians gathering to jam at the Hagar-owned Cabo Wabo Cantina include The Who's John Entwistle, former Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash, former Gn' R drummer Matt Sorum and Hagar himself.

Jamming aside, Slash will be debuting his version of his band Snakepit this weekend, kicking off a short tour that will take him to a handful of venues around Southern California. A few other shows are pending. Slash intends to hone his new songs before going into the studio to record a new album.

Hagar, too, is sharpening his chops in Cabo with his own WaboRitas for a just-announced tour that will take the former Van Halen singer through a dozen Hard Rock Cafes across the U.S. Hagar is touring to promote his new album, "Red Voodoo," due out in March. The first single, "Mas Tequila," will now drop March 1.

The Hard Rock tour begins March 7 in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and wraps up in

Hagar's home turf of San Francisco, California, March 23. The dates are only open to contest winners, press and invited guests, with the exception of a public show in Orlando, Florida, March 16.
