Sisqo Cooks Up VMA Surprise

Big, fun summer hits don't get much bigger than "Thong Song," but let's be honest, it ain't summer anymore.

No one is more aware of that than Sisqo, the man behind the "Thong." However, with his video for the track up for five statuettes at the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards, he also knows people are going to expect him to deliver the hit when he takes the stage for his performance the awards show Thursday night.

[article id="1452034"]"Considering the fact that the 'Thong Song' is so old, but that's what's nominated, the real challenge is how [to] come up with a performance that's entertaining enough to keep up people's attention when you're performing a song people have heard 100,000 times,"[/article] Sisqo told MTV News on Wednesday. [article id="1452034"]"I think we nailed it. I think we got it. We got a little surprise for y'all, so be looking out. Everybody might not be surprised, but I think a large percentage of people will be pleasantly surprised by what we're doing in the show." [/article]

Sisqo wouldn't elaborate on what's in store for his Thursday night performance.

It looks to be an evening full of surprises for Sisqo, who will be sitting on pins and needles as his "Thong Song" clip battles for five VMAs, including Best Hip-Hop Video, Best Dance Video, and the Viewer's Choice Award.

"If I win one, I'm happy," Sisqo said. "I don't care which one it is, just give me one of them. I want a Moonman so bad I can taste it."
