Tracks from Rage Against The Machine, Jamiroquai, Foo Fighters, Green Day, the Wallflowers and Puff Daddy with Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page will adorn the soundtrack to the upcoming summer event spectacle "Godzilla.

The "Godzilla" film-making team (the same folks behind "Independence Day") have spared no expense to make a huge hit out of the monster movie remake, whose tagline is "Size does matter." That same principle seems to have been applied to the film's soundtrack.

The album's first single and video will arrive next month in the form of a Wallflowers cover of David Bowie's "Heroes." Then, in mid-May, a Puffy/Page collaboration called "Come With Me" (which is said to be inspired by Zeppelin's 1975 nugget "Kashmir") will hit the ariwaves as the soundtrack's second single and video.

Meanwhile, Jamiroquai's "Deeper Underground" will be the first bit of "Godzilla" music reaching international audiences, and Epic Records (the folks behind the soundtrack) also say

that a video is being shot for a Rage Against The Machine song called "American Eyes.

Foo Fighters, Ben Folds Five, Michael Penn, Silverchair and Days Of The New will also appear on the soundtrack.

For the Foo Fighters, the "Godzilla" track marked the first time that the band's current line-up -- Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Nate Mendel and new guitarist Franz Stahl -- recorded together. The group joined Benmont Tench of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and Petra Hayden of that dog to record a track that Grohl and Hawkins recently described to our friends in the MTV Radio Network.

"We did a song for the 'Godzilla' movie, and it's the first time the four of us have been in the studio together, and it's awesome. It turned out really, really wild. It's this crazy..."

"People are either going to love it or hate it," drummer Taylor Hawkins added.

"It seems like it's almost for a movie score. The first third of the song is really beautiful and kind of mellow, and it's called A320," head Foo Fighter Dave Grohl told the MTV Radio Network this week of his contribution to the soundtrack. "Then the middle part is kind of the big rock thing, and then the end is this crazy crescendo that you can almost see the credits rolling as you listen to it. It's pretty cool."

"There's really not that many words," Hawkins said.

"No, the lyrics are only in the first third of the song. The rest of it's almost instrumental," Grohl explained.

"It's pretty prog rock really," Hawkins said.
