Lenny Kravitz Collapses At Concert, Buckcherry Sits Out Radio Show

Lenny Kravitz was forced to cut short a concert at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey on Sunday night after collapsing backstage from heat exhaustion.

The show was the final date of Kravitz's Live '99 Tour with the Black Crowes and Everlast, and Kravitz had played for almost 40 minutes before he walked offstage and collapsed, according to the Associated Press.

A spokesperson for the Arts Center said that Kravitz was treated by the venue's doctor and then left on his own recognizance. The night before the incident, Kravitz was in top form for his 90-minute set at a show at Jones Beach Amphitheater in Wantagh, New York, closing out the concert with an encore of "Are You Gonna Go My Way" and "Fly Away."

It was not immediately known whether Kravitz planned to make-up the Holmdel date, but we'll keep you posted.

In semi-related news, Buckcherry nixed its appearance at the River Rave in Mansfield, Massachusetts on Sunday after lead singer Joshua Todd became ill.

"The Boston Globe" reports that Todd came down with a bronchial infection following a gig in Baltimore, Maryland on Friday and wasn't up to performing at the show, sponsored by area radio station WBCN.

The concert, which featured sets from Fountains of Wayne, Sugar Ray, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, among others, raised an estimated $20,000 for several charities, including the Friends of the Plymouth Pond and the Surfrider Foundation.

Buckcherry is scheduled to head out on the road for a tour with Fuel and Pound, beginning on June 2 in Syracuse, New York.
