Bobby Brown Found Guilty Of DUI, Plans To Appeal

Bobby Brown was reportedly sentenced to five days in prison and ordered to undergo drug treatment in a Florida courtroom on Thursday after being convicted of drunk driving.

The Associated Press reports that Brown, joined at the Fort Lauderdale hearing by his wife Whitney Houston, was found guilty of charges stemming from a 1996 incident in which he lost control of his Porsche. The singer reportedly suffered a few broken bones in the accident, and police said Brown's blood-alcohol level was 0.2 percent at the time of the accident (well above Florida's 0.08 limit). The AP also reports that police found drugs in Brown's system through a blood test.

In addition to his five-day sentence, Brown must spend 30 days in a drug treatment center. Brown's lawyers reportedly plan to appeal the verdict, and posted a $1,500 bond to allow the singer to head home.
