Diana Ross Discusses Brandy's Businesslike Ethic

Diana Ross' has just released a new album entitled "Every Day Is a New Day," and will return to the small screen with a lead role in the new TV movie, "Double Platinum," which also stars Brandy.

In the tele-film, Ross portrays a woman who sacrifices motherhood for a singing career, then years later must deal with the painful emotions of reconciling with Brandy, the daughter she left behind.

Ross is an experienced actress who was nominated for an Oscar in 1972 for her portrayal of legendary singer Billie Holiday in "The Lady Sings the Blues." More recently, Ross was nominated for a Golden Globe in 1995 for her part in the TV movie "Out of Darkness."

During the filming of "Double Platinum," Ross said she was particularly impressed with her young co-star's professional work ethic and drive.

"[Brandy's] just a really dear girl and she worked very hard," Ross explained to the MTV Radio Network, "because not only was she doing the movie, but she was also doing other work after

[we'd wrap]. She was doing Cover Girl commercials and everything, yet she was always on time and always there, always really present."

"Double Platinum" incorporates songs from the respective new albums from Diana Ross and Brandy, as well as a new duet, "Love Is All That Matters." "Double Platinum" will air on May 16 on ABC.
