Billy Corgan, Natalie Imbruglia, David Bowie Collaborate On "Stigmata" Soundtrack

As the Smashing Pumpkins continue to work on its follow-up to last year's "Adore," frontman Billy Corgan is getting ready for next month's release of the "Stigmata" soundtrack, featuring orchestral music composed by himself and Mike Garson.

Natalie Imbruglia and David Bowie have also contributed new material to the "Stigmata" album, with Imbruglia singing vocals on "identify," the first single from the album, and a track specifically written for the film.

Bowie has contributed another original number to the "Stigmata" album, entitled "The Pretty Things Are Going to Hell" (a slight play on the title of Bowie's 1971 single, "Oh, You Pretty Things"). The new Bowie tune will also be included on the Thin White Duke's own new album, "hours...," due out in October (see [article id="1426391"]"Bowie Counting Down 'Hours' Until Release Of Next Album"[/article]).

Rounding out the album's vocal tracks are new mixes of Bjork's "All Is Full of Love" and Chumbawamba's "Mary

Mary," along with some previously released material from Remy Zero, Massive Attack, and the Afro Celt Sound System featuring Sinead O'Connor.

Natalie Imbruglia plans to shoot a video for "identify" this weekend in Los Angeles. No word yet on when that clip is expected to be completed, but we'll keep you posted.

The "Stigmata" soundtrack is due in stores on August 24, while the film, starring Patricia Arquette and Gabriel Byrne, will arrive on screens September 10.
