Blondie And Coolio Team-Up For "No Exit," Live Appearance

First there was Kenny Rogers. Then Smash Mouth. Now Blondie.

Rapper Coolio has worked with them all, having made a name for himself recently with several cross-genre collaborations, the latest being the song, "No Exit," cut with the revived new wave rock group Blondie.

"No Exit" will also serve as the title track for Blondie's upcoming album, which is due out in February of 1999, and marks the group's first record of new material since 1982's "The Hunter."

The rock & rap pairing have also been tapped to reprise "No Exit" for a live performance at the 26th annual American Music Awards, scheduled for Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium on January 11, 1999.

As we previously reported (see [article id="1426228"]"Blondie Is Back"[/article]), Blondie reformed earlier this year and later made an unscheduled appearance as part of Joey Ramone's "Cyberbash" at the Intel Music Festival, held in New York City back in July.

The first single from "No Exit" will be "Maria,"

and Blondie plans to follow the release of its new album with a reunion tour in the spring and summer of 1999.
